Welcome Back, Pioneer Pathfinders!

Dear Pioneer Students and Families,

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! I hope your summer was filled with opportunities to relax, explore, and create wonderful memories with family and friends. As we prepare to begin a new year together, we are filled with excitement for all that lies ahead.

At Pioneer Elementary, we believe every student should be inspired to wonder, create, innovate, and problem solve. Through our STEAM-focused learning experiences, we will continue to inspire curiosity, encourage creativity, and empower students to become confident learners and thinkers. This year, we will continue our journey to Choose Community by building a school where every student feels welcomed, valued, supported, and connected.

At Pioneer, students are cared for, inspired, and empowered to explore their potential while contributing to a community that believes in them. We believe every student brings unique strengths, ideas, and experiences that make our school stronger. Our goal is to create a place where every child knows they matter, feels a sense of belonging, and is encouraged to take risks, try new things, and discover what they are capable of achieving.

We are thrilled to welcome our newest Pathfinders, including the students and families joining our very first Transition to Kindergarten (TK) class! We also look forward to reconnecting with our returning students and families as we continue to grow our Pioneer community. Whether you are joining us for the first time or returning for another year of learning and discovery, you are an important part of what makes Pioneer such a special place.

When I walk through the halls of Pioneer, I see students asking questions, creating solutions, collaborating, and discovering their potential. I am honored to serve as your principal and cannot wait to watch our Pathfinders grow, learn, and accomplish amazing things this year. Our exceptional staff has been preparing for an incredible year and is committed to helping every child grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

We know students thrive when schools and families work together. Families are an essential part of our Pioneer community, and we look forward to partnering with you throughout the year. Whether you volunteer, attend school events, share your ideas, encourage learning at home, or cheer your child on each day, your partnership makes a difference.

We hope to see you at our upcoming back-to-school events:

  • Popsicles with the Principals: August 18
    • K–2: 1:30–2:00 p.m.
    • 3–5: 2:15–2:45 p.m.
  • Kindergarten Jump Start: August 18 & 19, 9:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
  • Meet the Teacher: August 26, 4:30–5:30 p.m.

We know many students are eagerly waiting to find out who their teacher will be, and our teachers are just as excited to meet their new students! Classroom teacher assignments will be finalized and shared during the week of August 24. We appreciate your patience as our staff returns from summer break and we complete staffing to ensure every student has the best possible start to the school year.

As we begin this new adventure together, we invite each of our Pathfinders to choose community by showing kindness, embracing challenges, celebrating one another, and contributing to the incredible school we call Pioneer.

We cannot wait to welcome you back and begin another year filled with learning, discovery, creativity, and connection. Together, we will make this an exceptional year!

With excitement,

Kristi Brooks
Principal, Pioneer Elementary
