Welcome to Pioneer Elementary School
we are MISSION driven
At Pioneer, our learning environment exists beyond the classroom walls in socially embedded communities that promote choice and self-advocacy. Through personalized inquiry based projects and authentic experiences, learners will collaborate with multi-aged peers to demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and mindsets needed to identify and solve our most pressing global issues.

Pioneer Elementary News
PSD leaders interviewed some talented candidates and are happy to announce four candidates have been chosen as the new deputy principals, beginning in the 2023-2024 school year.
Danielle Fischer has been chosen as the new Deputy Principal for Harbor Heights Elementary. Kim Kinney has been chosen as the new Deputy Principal for Pioneer Elementary. Niccole Griffin has been chosen as the new Deputy Principal for Swift Water Elementary. Kelli Demonte has been chosen as the new Deputy Principal for Voyager Elementary.
As outlined in our five year strategic plan, the Peninsula School District has committed to creating equitable and inclusive learning environments for every child in our schools. To help us reach this goal, PSD will provide all basic educational school supplies to our K-12 students at no cost to families during the 2023-2024 school year. You can see a full list of school supplies offered at your child’s grade level at our website - https://bit.ly/PSD-School-Supplies.
Last Friday, May 5, Pioneer Elementary held its second annual Shark Tank event, where students get a chance to propose their innovations to a group of panelists for prizes. This year’s winner was Jeremy N. and his Pet Car design! The Pet Car’s purpose is to help disabled pets move around their home using sensors, without the help of their owners.
Pioneer Elementary students love being creative with their innovation projects, and keep finding new ways to use their tools to help in unexpected ways. Recently, students in Justin Towner’s innovation class used a 3D printer to create a model of a mouth for their peers in speech-language therapy.
Families can submit an interest survey for their child to attend Pioneer Elementary School, the Peninsula School District’s STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) school for the 2023-2024 school year.
Pioneer Elementary School parents and Superintendent Bahr were treated to a special party last week at Pioneer Elementary School in Taylor Marshall’s K/1 class as her students presented their class non-fiction book about the moon.
